Recipients from the monthly Poor Fund

FOOD PANTRY: Operates out of the church twice a week and supports those who are in need from Lexington Park to Point Lookout.

THREE OAKS: Money is used for food, medications and rent.  We also have volunteers who prepare a meal each month for 20-25 residents.

HOSPICE OF ST MARY’S: Room and board are not covered by Medicare or Insurance.  The funds are used for room and board for those that can’t afford to pay.

PASTORAL COUNSELING CENTER OF ST MARY’S: Their clients are mostly the same clients who use the Food Pantry.  They receive one on one counseling.  This organization gets no United Way Contributions and they are dependent on our donation.

HEALTH SHARE OF ST MARY’S COUNTY: Their focus is on dental care but they also provide funds for copay for prescriptions, medical supplies, and health care.  This is a joint effort by physicians, MedStar, the Health Department and the Department of Social Services.  They have no paid staff.
