Pastor’s Keyboard: Hello, my name is Aiden Perusse. I am the red haired, altar boy who is often at Mass. I’ve been coming to St. Cecelia’s and St. Peter Claver for four years. Since joining St. Cecelia’s, I’ve been an active member of the youth group and a member of the Archdiocesan Youth Leadership Team. I am now a rising freshman at the St. John Paul II Seminary.

St. Cecelia’s has been a wonderful home for me to discern my vocation to the priesthood, for I have been surrounded by good role models who have led me to where I am today. The countless youth group meetings, politics/philosophy nights, and vocation retreats I’ve attended have instilled a desire in my heart to learn more about my faith. The example of Father Scott and the parishioners here has led me to evangelization among the youth at the local community college, College of Southern Maryland.

While failure remains in me, my success has surely been the work of God. It has only brought me closer to our Lord in my struggles. I have found that discussing Christ among my peers is a passion of mine.

I am immensely excited for my studies at the St. John Paul II seminary, and I look forward to seeing where I can apply my talents in the future. Know that I will be keeping all of you in my prayers and I hope you will do the same for me.

In Christ,

Aiden Perusse
