Pastor’s Keyboard: These are hectic days, especially as we prepare for the coming of new babies in our families, Baptisms, First Communions, Weddings, graduations, and a host of other important and even life changing events either for us or for someone we love. We can find ourselves warn out, overwhelmed and just plain stressed.  A friend recently told me, “Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape”. Wise words from a wise woman.  How can we have such flexibility and such peace in turbulent and busy times? Another friend told me this, “To often we are acting out of desperation and not contemplation”.

We need to take time to contemplate the blessings of our life.  To see and listen to the beauty of creation that is all around us. “But how, Father? I’m so busy!”. Take five minutes in the morning, afternoon, and evening.  If that’s too much, take three minutes three times a day.  Put an alarm on your phone and mark it time for God.  I promise you that the more you do this, the more you will experience peace, even in the midst of the many life changing events to come. The Lord will be your rock and your salvation, and He will hold you steady and root you into His peace and joy!

Your Brother in Christ,

Fr Scott
